Paititi Eldorado Akakor: the myth becomes true

Analysing a particular asterism and following the traces which were left by Leonardo da Vinci in his works, Riccardo Magnani’s main matter of research, the author has brought to light the ruins of the most legendary city: the Eldorado.

The identified ruins are located in the thick forest of Amazonia on the border of Peru, Brazil and Bolivia,  they don’t give rise to any doubt and confirm all the half-truths which are integral part of every legend; the megalithic city, which was discovered following the logic of  mirrored-astronomy used by the ancient inhabitants of earth, embodies perfectly the legendary precepts of corresponding myths: Paititi for natives, the Eldorado of Spanish conquerors and Akakor, the underground city told by the freelance journalist Karl Brigger, who was mysteriously killed in the 80s.
The sensational finding brings to light the ruins of a real city, which was formed by various characteristic unities as in the urban logic of past time, so there are distinctly a ceremonial plaza, a temple for the sun cult, three minor squares and three separated stepping pyramidal buildings; each of these works is characterized by definitely extra large dimensions and this fact make us think to a pre-Incan very old, megalithic civilization, although very likely coeval to Nazca and Tiwanaku.
Unfortunately this finding implies a lot of thorny issues, which induce the researcher to accelerate the publishing of his discovery; the located city is within a reserve, where the indigenes of the Nahua – Nanti community  have been confined, and among these numerous groups of  “uncontacted”. In the last years the very area is object  of natural gas extraction,  in spite of unfavourable laws  of Peruvian High Court, this fact represents a serious threat to one of the last uncontaminated heritage of our planet as well as to the native population and to the announced finding. For this reason professor  Magnani  hopes for  an immediate intervention of Peruvian state authorities   (however already warned about the finding)  of UNESCO and of UN, as well as for the participation of public and private funds in favour of an official digging campaign, which safeguards  this sensational finding  against every single speculation and protects the local people and this strip of uncontaminated earth, precious lung of our whole planet.

Paititi Eldorado Akakor: the myth becomes true

As it often happens in the research world a single intuition may be the key that opens unknown doors of knowledge.  Deeply studying Leonardo da Vinci, in a way that perhaps  no other scholar before was able to perform , it has been an intuition, one of the many, which allowed me to achieve the most unexpected and therefore also the most beautiful of my discoveries.

The intuition I’m speaking of is related to the importance of the three constellations forming the Summer Triangle, that is Cygnus,  Lyra and Aquila;  particularly it is related to the constellation of Lyra, considering the fact that Leonardo arrived in Milan at the Gonzaga’s Court in 1483 accompanied by the curious definition of “excellent player of lyre”.
Often the boundary which marks under a nominal point of view the historical chronic from a myth or from a legend is if there are or there are not real and objective documental comparison elements. So it happens that the discovery of a sheet music of the greatest genius in history (Fig. 1) (inter alia the same music is hidden in “The Last Supper” ) and the finding   a definition of Cicero from  “De Republica” (“And those human beings who can imitate by the Lyre the heavens’ concert have found again the path  towards  that sublime reign”), so this leads to an unexpected opening  of human intuition which disclose   doors of knowledge otherwise inaccessible to reason.
Lin Yu-t’ang wrote: “ A good traveller is one who doesn’t know where  he’s going “.
According to this definition I must be a very good traveller as I’m always surprised about the place I find myself when I open my eyes after the enchantment of the intuitions that incessantly mark my path.
What astonished me completely was the place where I woke up one afternoon of September last year, while I was preparing one of the conference in occasion of the presentation of two of my books, where I announced my discoveries about Leonardo.
Following the hypothesis –shared also by  Collins, that the three pyramids in Giza might not replicate the alignment of the Orion’s  Belt constellation, as Robert Bauval affirms, and with whom I had just held a conference in Tuscany, but of the three stars of the constellation of Cygnus, and as soon as I verified that the St Anne cartoon by Leonardo referred to this very constellation (Fig. 2), I decided to control  some other ancient site with the purpose to find  further proofs about the fact that this constellation had a particular importance for our ancestors, who were particularly careful to astronomical facts and to the precession of equinoxes. So I decided to analyze those archaeological sites which have the most controversial dating in a way that I brought into question all the academic construct assumed till today and in particular the Nazca  Lines and the Sun Door of Tiwanaku (this indeed a further correspondence with Leonardo da Vinci ),  assuming them as coeval but far older than other more modern sites such as Macchu Pichu and Cusco.
In that afternoon of September I found myself to do the simplest action: I took an image of Peru from Google Earth and I superimposed to that an image of the Summer triangle, this I’ll propose to you (Fig. 3).

The Summer Triangle is an asterism formed of three very bright stars that appear in the boreal hemisphere soon after sunset from June to the first day in January. The three stars are Deneb, in the constellation of Cygnus, Altair in the constellation of Aquila, and Vega of Constellation of Lyra. In correspondence to the Summer Triangle lies the Milk Way, where its central part is obscured by a group of nebulas (Cygnus Loop) and where the scientists found a very high concentration of energy. It’s a matter of fact that lots of ancient sites refers to this precise astronomical connection.

According to a geometrical order about distances and proportions I found it easy to place Deneb (Cygnus) over Nazca and Altair (Aquila) over Tiwanuku; the other star of the triangle, that is Altair of the Constellation of Lyra, the one related to the music of Leonardo and told by Cicero, identified (and still does) a precise point inside the Peruvian Amazon Forest.

Curiously  enough and perhaps not by chance this over imposing lets the whole Andes mountain range (The Cordillera) replying on earth the Milk Way in respect to the three identified points, in exact the same way it goes through the three stars of the Summer Triangle.
Children are curious and intuitive researcher are sometimes still more, particularly in the presence of this copious coincidences, therefore I wanted to verify what was hidden in that very point of the forest which was suggested to me by my intuitive comparison, hidden among luxuriant tree close to the sky and in a almost inaccessible ground.
I was totally shocked and intrigued the very moment I saw with my eyes something apparently not natural or better something recalling a Huaca that is, according to quechua terms, the ancient Inca language, a place consecrated to a cult : an unnatural squared top unit and as a part of it inside,  in the midst of the thick vegetation, another squared artifact and another circular one (perhaps a solar clock remembering the one of Sacsayhuaman of Cusco. (Fig. 4 and 5)
At that stage my spontaneous thought was to broaden my interest to the entire surrounding area; I could hardly believe what was emerging there, it was so different from what you may say a blunder or a huge mistake : a ceremonial plaza (Fig. 6) like the many related to the pre-Inca Peruvian culture, other smaller squares with lateral access stairs (Fig. 7), squared step pyramids, in a number of three (Fig.8 and 9), which remembered the arrangement of the pyramids in Giza and the St. Anne Cartoon , object of my first intuition and so similar to a analogous formation set in Cusco (Fig. 10) and of course much more (Fig. 11) displaced in an area of at least 800 squared kilometers north and south the river Timpia.
There below my eyes , precisely where I was led by my  involuntary and intuitive accidental superimposition of the Summer Triangle with a satellite map of Peru it has appeared a city , or better , what at first glance and with tiny margin of error seem to be places of cult of an ancient megalithic city. Nothing in common with the relatively modern citadels of Macchu Pichu and Choquequirao or with the various sporadic findings along the Sacred Valley of the Incas or of Miraflores, to put it quite simply.
Then the play was easy.

The coordinates were traced and you couldn’t go wrong anymore: there is only one city, considered legendary because never identified, a city supposed to lie on the border between Peru, Brazil and Bolivia: the myth of the Ciutad Perdida ( the Lost City)  and which has always fascinated and attracted the researchers of  all over the world as well stimulated the fantasy not only of the Hollywood majors , but also of literature , comics and videogames pictures and lots more.
Quoting Plato it is appropriate to say  that “Astronomy compels the soul to look upwards and leads us from this world to another. “
Precisely I should talk more about myths, in plural. In fact the myths in question are  exactly the ones anticipated in the title of this work, that is: Paititi, Eldorado and  Akakor.
The first myth is related to the historical roots of an ancient pre-Inca community,  clinging  to Peruvian Andes for some deducible reason; the second myth is related to the reports  of those who went to conquer that community,  violating and depriving it of its deepest identity, that is of  the cornerstones of its thousand-year old culture: the Spanish Conquistadores; the third myth is related to something most recent, that is the story of a freelance German journalist of the TV Channel  ARD, Karl Brugger, who lost his life on a Brazilian beach in the ‘80s of the last century probably due to this story .
Well, all the three legendary myths refer to the very city which was concealed under the thick Amazon  vegetation till the moment the intuition led me to identify it.
Akakor, the legendary underground reign – which was told to the German journalist Karl Brugger by a native half-blood called Tanunca Nara (who inspired an episode of the Indiana Jones saga ) – is placed by its narrator between Brazil and Peru, very deep in the Amazon Forest, near the spring of the river Purus, one of the affluent of the Amazon (fig.12).
As to the myth of Eldorado, told in the West by the stories of the Spanish Conquistadores and by the chroniclers of that time the information was luckily unclear and discordant so that it hasn’t permitted till today its precise identification. It is to be noted anyway that all the stories by the chroniclers of  that time concord describing this legendary city as the place where the Incas retreated before the Spanish troops of Pizarro bringing gold and valuables, and they all placed  it in some unclear area in the Amazon Forest ten days on foot from Cusco towards East. This, by chance,  is the reason  why till today the researchers have been kept away from this legendary city , and they have been led to believe to search it  East of Cusco, near Pantiacolla and the petroglyphs of Pusharo.
As to the myth of Paititi I don’t need to remind here what it represents referring to the Pre-Inca culture and to its legendary creator Inkarri; I do want to put the attention on two of the recent findings which are more useful to the short dissertation wherewith  I’m announcing you my discovery.
The first finding I’m referring was made by the Italian Archeologist Mario Pola in 2001, who discovered in the Jesuitical archives in Rome the report of the missionary Andrea Lopez. In this document, dating about 1600  Lopez describes a big city rich of gold, silver and jewels, which was placed in the middle of the jungle near a fall and it was called Paititi by the native; the second finding has been made recently by an Italian researcher Laura Laurencich Minelli, who has published the book Exul immeritus Blas Valera populo suo by the Jesuit Blas Valera together with two important drawings which are in the book and which date 1618. The drawings are stylized depiction of a detail in the Andes mountain range where, according the native Jesuit Blas Valera, the citadel of Paititi should be placed.
These two drawings are dear to me because they have, like Leonardo da Vinci portraits my city in the background of the Gioconda, the peculiarity to represent the Cordillera both from the side of the forest and both from the one of the sierra (Fig. 13 and Fig. 14). According to the researchers these drawings have opened new hypotheses about the real location of Paititi, for that, as already said, has been always  looked East of Cusco in the area of Pantiacolla, where both the pyramids ( then recognized as natural) and the petroglyphs of Pusharo justified to the explorers perhaps a deeper inspection.
This last  finding testifying the record of Blas Vadera let us appreciate a very interesting similarity to the mountainous formation  which lies exactly in the middle of the area of my announced finding, which is exactly between the river Timpia and one of its affluent ( Fig. 15 ) and it has an evident reference to the artifacts shown in the Figg. 4 and 6 among others. It is interesting to evidence that the view of Paititi from the side of the forest ( that is north south direction, Fig. 13 ) presents both  the ceremonial plaza (Fig. 6 )  and the potential Huaca del Sol (Fig. 4 ), while the view from the side of the sierra (therefore light brown, south north direction, Fig. 14 ) presents the vulture on the top of the mountain (which is expression of the constellation of Lyra, by the way ) and a sequence of figures at the river level , probably petroglyphs similar to the ones in Pusharo.
It is so comforting , confirming the fact  that we are with a good approximation in front of the Lost City not only that the identification of the site is stated through a precise astronomical reference, very important for the ancient cultures coeval to Tiwanaku and to the Natzca Lines, as for other megalithic settlements going beyond modern dating like Stonehenge in England, Gobeki Tepe in Turkey or Carahunge in Armenia, but it’s also comforting the fact that it coincides with the area in which, from a legendarily point of view, this city, called with various names , has been always ideally placed.
Obviously  the  absolute certainty of the effective discovery can be obtained only after a serious and articulate  digging campaign and therefore I must reveal now that it’s not the only discovery related to the exceptional finding I’m announcing.
It’s for this reason that today I’d have liked some delegates of the Ministry of Culture by my side, delegates requested many times, and of Peruvian National Institute of Culture, but because of what I’m going to explain I can’t wait them any longer.
The area, where this my finding lies, is located on the border of another area , well known in Peru as  Lot Camisea 88,  which is theatre of the harshly disputed  drillings for the extraction of natural gas that put seriously at risk the fragile equilibrium of one of the last uncontaminated  environment of our planet. There is also the more important fact that both the area of the concession for gas extraction and the found area are on the territory of the natives since ever: the Reservation of the Nahua-Nanti; today on this territory there is even a new concession, which has a fatal name ,thinking to what it caused to the native Indians in that zone, the area Fitzcarrald (Fig. 16, 17, 18, 19 ).
In this reservation, which has been given by the Peruvian govern to the natives, there are still today al lot of unities of uncontacted people that some  international associations are trying to preserve and at the same time to safeguard their existence , today  threatened by  the activities of  gas and oil survey and extraction and by  lumberjacks looking for the precious red mahogany.
I identified many camps of  these uncontacted tribes within the territory where there are the ruins object of my note as if they wanted to maintain an ideal  umbilical cord with the ethnic and cultural roots of their origin and never abandon them, this is demonstrated in this picture (Fig. 20) collected only at 4 km from what should be the Ceremonial Plaza of Inti Raymi (Fig. 6). I found at least fifteen of these camps, all located between the buildings as you can see partly in the following picture (Fig. 21).
The stakes are very high indeed and the numerous interests which my discoveries involve together with the open way I wanted to publicise it should invite every inhabitant on earth not to feel indifferent because it concerns the history of all of us, our generous earth and therefore our future.  No other way of publicising the finding makes any sense if not  to underline  more the located object than the prestige of its finder.
Oscar Wild said
“Only the knowledge of the past allows the knowledge of the future”
If we want to bequeath to our children a better future, we must preserve what most refers to our past and  the infinite heritage of knowledge we have sacrificed in name of progress that appears perhaps in its material manifestations but that is on the contrary a real regression because mankind should act humbly  in front of nature if they want to maintain our extraordinary  planet in health.
This is the reason why I wanted to break waiting times respecting anyway the limits I had announced to the Peruvian government  so that they could take at once all the measures to protect the area in order to avoid that  spiteful ruthless people or gold hunters could invade and compromise the identified area and  harm those groups of people with ever no contact to some form of civilization.
I’m asking for the intervention of UNESCO of which the Nahua-Nanti Reservation  is a precious heritage and of UNO  in order to promote an intergovernmental  digging campaign. As the territory in question belongs to the natives according to a decision made by the Supreme Court in 2008 it is of the utmost importance to grant them protection and attention, that deforestation surveys and extraction of oil and natural gas cease and to avoid an uncoordinated exploration of the zone because just a cold could be fatal for these people.

I hope that following my  publication it can be executed an  intergovermental action to be financed both by public and private sponsors and I hope, as said, a prompt  and direct intervention of the Peruvian government so that the area could be protected by the natural curiosity of researcher and ruthless gold hunters   till the moment  of a regulated and organized visit.

We are perhaps facing one of the most ancient and  most uncontaminated archeological finding of our history, if we preserve it as it deserves, we’ll go one step further towards our reconversion to a life style,  which is no more sustainable and which appear today basically disastrous, as we can see daily in the manifestations of a raped unheeded nature.

For this only reason I decided to give the news of my announcement  to the people in the present form , this in order to prevent that others may go into that area without  a complete and responsible protection of the heritage and of the living people, and in order to let emerge again a fundamental knowledge in human history according to which the cycles of the seasons and the rhythm of life were followed without any exceptions by the real and absolute law, the natural law,
Philosophy is written in this grand book, the universe, which stands continually open to our gaze.  But the book cannot be understood unless one first learns to comprehend the language and read the characters in which it is written. It is written in the language of mathematics, and its characters are triangles, circles, and other geometric figures without which it is humanly impossible to understand a single word of it; without these one is wandering in a dark labyrinth.
(Galileo Galilei)
I’d like to end my announcement with an invitation which is at the same time a wish for all of us and which I hope to become a guidance motto for future politics accepted by both governs and citizens;  my invitation is the absolute contraction of one of the most beautiful writings of the greatest Italian poet reminding us what truly marks our seasons,

In the middle of the journey of our life …  we came forth to see again the stars.

Only then will we have a respectable future to pass on to our children.
